Opishnia Trail 2026 is a two-day trail running event that will take place on April 25–26, 2026 in the picturesque town of Opishnia, Poltava region — the capital of Ukrainian pottery.
The race combines athletic challenge, the natural landscapes of Poltava region, and the deep historical roots of the area. The trail routes pass through ancient Scythian burial mounds, forests, and meadows along the Vorskla River valley, and also cross the territory of the National Museum-Reserve of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishnia.
Clean air, historical heritage, the spirit of pottery traditions, and delicious traditional borscht — all of this creates the unique atmosphere of Opishnia Trail, attracting both experienced trail runners and newcomers.
Race distances: “Opishnia Mile” (1.6 km), 10 km, 20 km, 30 km, and 50 km trail runs, as well as 7 km Nordic walking. Each distance has participant limits and time cut-offs.
Participants aged 18 and over are allowed to compete on distances from 10 km to 50 km. For the 50 km ultra distance, runners must confirm experience of completing distances of 40 km or more within the last two years. Short distances and Nordic walking are available for participants of any age, in accordance with the event regulations.
Registration is available online at vsiprobihy.org and will remain open until April 22, 2026, or until participant limits are reached. The entry fee depends on the chosen distance and the registration date.
The race package includes a bib number or wristband, electronic timing (for most distances), a finisher medal, hydration points, food on longer distances, baggage storage, changing rooms, race photos, and an online results protocol. The package may be supplemented with additional options from event partners.
Discounted and free entry is available for selected categories of participants, including war veterans, family members of fallen soldiers, people with disabilities, participants aged 60+, and other defined groups. Group registration discounts are also available.
As part of the event, camping and guided excursions will be organized, allowing participants to fully enjoy Opishnia, explore its culture and history, and spend a complete sports and travel weekend.
The event program includes race kit pick-up on Saturday, a pre-race briefing, staggered race starts on Sunday, and an awards ceremony for winners and prize finishers.
The event is held in compliance with safety requirements and with consideration of martial law conditions. Each participant competes at their own risk and is personally responsible for their health condition.
All event details, participant requirements, and terms of participation are described in the Opishnia Trail official regulations available on the event’s official page.
