“Steel Run 2026” is the fifth Kryvyi Rih Half Marathon, bringing together runners of different fitness levels, children, veterans, and all fans of an active lifestyle.

The event is held to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop mass sports and athletics in Ukraine, support the Olympic movement, and build a positive image of Ukraine in the world.

• Format: individual and team competitions

Distances

• “Steel Run”: 21 km (half marathon) — 4 laps of 5 km (time limit — 3 hours)
• 10 km: 2 laps of 5 km (time limit — 80 min)
• 5 km: 1 lap (time limit — 40 min)
• Nordic walking: 5 km
• Fun bike ride: 5 km
• School Cup: 1300 m
• Kids races: 100 m and 200 m
• Iron Kilometer: a distance for veterans and their families

October 2, 2026:

• 10:00–20:00 — race kit distribution (location to be announced)

October 3, 2026:

• 07:00 — opening of the старт town, race kit distribution
• 09:00 — participants warm-up
• 09:10 — official opening
• 09:20 — bike ride start (awarding at the finish)
• 09:30 — simultaneous start: 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, Nordic walking
• 09:50–10:20 — finish of first 5 km and 10 km participants
• 10:50 — half marathon finishers
• 11:00 — “Iron Kilometer” start (awarding at the finish)
• 11:50 — warm-up for kids races
• 12:00 — “School Cup” start
• 12:20 — “School Cup” finish
• 12:30 — kids races (100 m, 200 m)
• 12:40 — awarding on the main stage
• 13:00 — course closing

Participants

• 21 km — from 18 years old
• 10 km — from 16 years old
• 5 km and Nordic walking — from 14 years old
• Bike ride — from 14 years old
• School Cup — students of grades 4–11
• Kids races — 5–10 years old
• Iron Kilometer — veterans and their family members

The participant’s age is determined as of the race day. Each participant takes part voluntarily, bears personal responsibility for their health, and signs a liability waiver.

Organizers and medical staff have the right to deny participation or remove a participant from the course if necessary.

Race Kit Collection

Awards

• 21 km, 10 km, 5 km — top-3 (men and women), partner prizes
• Age categories (21 km): 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+ — diplomas
• Nordic walking — 1st–3rd places
• School Cup — 1st–3rd places (junior and senior groups)
• Kids races — diplomas
• Bike ride and “Iron Kilometer” — awarding at the finish
• Finisher medals are awarded to the first 600 finishers

Combat veterans receive a 30% discount (contact the organizing committee).

Safety and Rules

• Participants are personally responsible for their health
• Medical service is present at the event
• Participants must follow traffic rules of Ukraine
• Bib number must be worn on the chest
• Leaving the course or violating rules is prohibited
• A participant may be disqualified for violations
• The event will take place in any weather conditions
• May be canceled in case of safety threats or decision of military administration
• Registration fees are non-refundable
• Re-registration is possible until September 25, 2026

Protests and Claims

• Protests — within 30 minutes after results announcement (fee 600 UAH)
• Claims — within 24 hours via email
